The Saints volleyball team has now one 21 straight sets after sweeping the Crown College Storm on Friday night.
The Saints took the season series over the Storm (7-16, 2-11 UMAC) 2-0 after sweeping them earlier this season as well.
The Saints opened up taking the first 11 points of the first set, and streak of six straight after Crown scored once as they cruised to victory 25-7.
The second set was a different story as the Saints and Storm traded off points early on. When the score was 15-13 CSS, the Saints went on to score 10 of the next 12 points to take the second set 25-17 and go up 2-0.
The third set was much like the second as the two teams exchanged points once again. This set, however, the Saints slowly pulled away from the Storm throughout the set and went on to victory 25-17 and finished off the sweep of the Storm.
Anna Zyvoloski (Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS (Minn.-Duluth)) led the Saints with another double-double having 14 kills and 12 digs.
Taylor Tyllia (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) added eight kills of her own,
Nikki Hughes (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern HS) had 12 digs and
Sarah Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) led the way for the Saints with 31 set assists.
The Saints (23-6, 12-1 UMAC) will be in action again when they play host to the Northwestern College Eagles (26-4, 13-0 UMAC) at 1 p.m. to decide who will take the top seed in next week's conference tournament. The action can be seen live on GameCentral at csssaints.com.
