BEATT SCORES HAT TRICK AS SAINTS WOMEN ROLL

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team scored seven goals in the first half, including a hat trick by #Andrea Beatt# as they rolled to an 11-0 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) victory over Presentation College on Saints Field Sunday afternoon.

#Molly Bergmann# earned the shutout in-net as her Saints evened their overall record to 4-4-1 (4-0-1 UMAC). The Presentation Saints fall to 1-7-0 on the season (0-3-0 UMAC).

Beatt, who now has four goals on the season, opened the scoring for CSS in the 10th minute, netting an unassisted tally off a free kick.

Three minutes later, #Malia Grosskruetz# scored her first goal for CSS, with assists from #Nicole Brandt# and #Megan Flesvig#.

Beatt came back with two straight goals to complete her hat trick in the 16th and 20th minutes, with #Kallie Thomas# and #Joey Moore# earning the assists, respectively, on each.

#Shannon Carlson# continued to be an offensive weapon for the Saints with two straight goals, one in the 23rd minute and one just before the 30-minute mark of the first half. #Maggie Dolan# assisted on the first, while Brandt assisted the other. Carlson and Beatt are now tied for the team lead in points.

The Saints scored one more goal in the first half, as #Theresa Magliano# netted her first career goal with just 1:15 to go before halftime. #Sarah Kloeckner# and #Lauryn Wilson# had the assists.

The Saints remained quiet for nearly 20 minutes after the half, but in the 64th minute, Klockner netted a goal thanks to an assist by #Shannon Lee#. It was the first collegiate goal for the Saints senior.

An unassisted goal by #Hannah Roy# followed just seconds before the 70-minute mark in the contest, and an own-goal charged to Presentation College put the CSS Saints up by 10.

#Claire Lubansky# netted one final goal in the closing minutes of the match with the assist by #Taylor Cunningham# to arrive at the final score of 11-0.

St. Scholastica finished with 38 shots, including 26 on net, while also limiting Presentation to just one shot for the game.

The Saints will be back at home next weekend for Homecoming. The Saints will face Northwestern College at 2 p.m. on Friday and Crown College at noon on Saturday. All of the action can be seen live, courtesy of the iFan Sports Network, at csssaints.com.
