DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team scored just one goal late in the first half Saturday afternoon, but kept Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) rival University of Minn.-Morris scoreless to earn a 1-0 victory on Saints Field.

Goalkeeper #Bailey Mahlum# earned her second straight shutout and the victory as her Saints improved to 3-4-1 on the season (3-0-1 UMAC). The Cougars fell to 3-5-0 while being dealt their first conference loss (2-1-0 UMAC).

The Saints pressured early and often, but Cougar goalkeeper Emily Jacob stopped seven shots for Morris. CSS was shutout for the first 44 minutes despite several chances including two shots on goal, but the Saints struck for a goal in the final seconds of the first half.

With just 17 seconds remaining before halftime, #Megan Flesvig# tossed the ball in to #Andrea Beatt#, who laid a perfect pass in to #Shannon Carlson#, who netted her second goal of the season. She is now tied for the team-lead in points at six.

The halftime score of 1-0 held through the second half as the Saints did not allow a single shot-on-net by the Cougars.

CSS took five shots-on-net in the second half to finish with eight for the game. Carlson led the Saints with four.
