SAINTS KEEP ROLLING AWAY FROM HOME WITH SWEEP OF MORRIS

MORRIS, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team improved to 13-4 on the year with a three-set victory over the University of Minnesota-Morris Saturday on Jim Gremmels Court.

The first set was tight early, but the Saints (13-4, 2-0 UMAC) pulled away midway through and held off the Cougars (7-9, 1-1 UMAC) to take the opening set 25-22.

CSS scored the first five points of the second set, but Morris battled back and tied it at 9-9. The Saints responded by scoring the next three consecutive points and took the second set going away, 25-16. The Saints had a .478 attack percentage in the set.

The third set featured 17 ties and eight lead changes. The Cougars held a 7-3 lead, but from there on out it was close. Morris would have four set points, but the Saints fought them off. #Anna Zyvoloski# ended the match with three straight kills to give the Saints the 29-27 set win.

Zyvoloski and #Paige Hardy# led the way once again for the Saints with 17 kills apiece. #Taylor Tyllia# added six kills. #Nikki Hughes# had 17 digs and #Sarah Kurtovich# had 39 set assists. Hardy and #Molly Roith# also had 11 digs.

The Saints will be on the road one more time before they return home on Friday as they will go out of conference and face the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Tuesday night. The action begins at 7 p.m.
