NEGAUNEE, Mich. – The St. Scholastica women's Nordic skiing team finished sixth out of nine teams in today's 5k classic race of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Ski Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan University.
#Eleanor Magnuson# (
So.-Champlin Park, Minn.) raced to an 11th place finish to lead the Saints with a time of 15:31.4 seconds. Magnuson finished 1:02 seconds behind winner Aurelia Korthauer of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Placing 19th was #Julia Curry# (
Jr.-Woodbury, Minn.) with a time of 15:48.2 seconds. #Megan Holmes# (
Sr.-Gilbert, Minn./Mesabi East) finished just ahead of #Lindsay Wallis# (
Jr.-Woodbury, Minn.) in 39th for CSS's final points performer. Holmes posted a time of 16:41.2 seconds.
Northern Michigan finished first with 82 points. Alaska-Fairbanks was second with 75 points. Michigan Tech placed third with 59 points and UW-Green Bay was fourth with 56 points. St. Benedict placed fifth with 47 points and the Saints were sixth with 45 points.
The 15k freestyle race will begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow. The race will be held on the Olympic loop.
