DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team will look to bounce back this weekend on the road this as it will play Concordia-Moorhead and Saint John's.

The Saints fell to UW-Stevens Point 4-3 last Saturday. #Riley Riddell#, #Paul Marcoux# and #Nick Taurence# scored the goals for the Saints. #Patrick Sullivan# stopped 31 shots in his first collegiate start, but came away with the loss.

St. Scholastica Saints (0-2-0, 0-2-0 NCHA)
Riley Riddell (Wawota, Saskatchewan/Wawota Parkland (UW-River Falls) ) has scored two goals in two games this year as well as an assist to give him three points on the year … #Carter Davis# is leading the team in assists with two … #Brennan Poderzay# and Patrick Sullivan (Kelowna, British Columbia/Chase Secondary (Fort William-SIJHL) ) have split time in net so far, and have combined to give up 11 goals.

Concordia-Moorhead Cobbers (1-1, 1-1 MIAC)
The Cobbers men's hockey team has steadily improved under third-year head coach Chris Howe … In 2009 Concordia narrowly missed the playoffs and set a MIAC record for ties in a season … The future looks bright for the Cobbers as they have a nucleus of players that have played for two seasons for Coach Howe and a group of freshmen that have a wealth of experience playing in juniors … The Cobbers have opened up the season 1-1 with a 6-4 opening game win vs. Bethel and a 4-2 loss vs. St. Thomas this past weekend … Jared Collen is the team's leading scorer through two games having recorded two goals…Seven players have scored on the year for the Cobbers…Three players are tied for the lead in assists with two…Kelly Andrew and Chris Neamonitis have each started a game for the Cobbers giving up four goals each.

The Johnnies looking to pick up where they left off in 2009-10, when SJU closed out the season winning three of its final four games … With a squad of proven starters, the Johnnies are looking to jump out to a better start and put themselves in a position to win close games. Fourteen of the Johnnies' 25 games last year were decided by two goals or less. The task will not be an easy one, however, as SJU has slated a difficult schedule that includes a number of ranked opponents, and potentially three of the four teams that played in last season's NCAA Division III Frozen Four… The 2010-11 Johnnies return senior forward Mike Wallgren, a strong two-way player and leader, who tallied 16 points last winter. He will don the captain's “C” for the Johnnies this season… SJU also returns senior Grant Ellena, who leads all returning players with 18 points a year ago… Defensively, SJU returns all but one defenseman from a year ago; including seniors Brent Brodersen, Pat McClure and James Olmscheid …Brodersen and McClure tied for the team-lead among defensemen with 10 points each… Junior Nick Roscoe and sophomores Corey Kosak and Ryan Wold are expected to contribute at the blue line again this season… Junior Tony Civello and sophomore Adam Andersson are expected to take over in net for the graduated Stu Van Ess… Last year, Civello started nine games and posted a 1-5-1 record with a 3.64 GAA and a .891 save percentage…Andersson, meanwhile, tallied a 2-1-0 record with a .905 save percentage and a 2.36 GAA…The Johnnies have scored two goals in their opening weekend losses last weekend…Robin Bylin and Wallgren are the only scorers for the Johnnies on the year…Andersson and Civello have each started a game and have each given up three goals.
