PREVIEW: Women Have Home Opener Tuesday in Basketball Doubleheader

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team will have its 2010-11 home opener on Tuesday night at Reif Gym as part of a men's and women's doubleheader against North Central University at Reif Gymnasium.

The Saints had a 19-point second half lead disappear as they only made two field goals in the final nine minutes in a 64-55 loss to Concordia College-Moorhead in the home opener on Saturday. #Derek Anderson# had a career-high 25 points and #Brett Tester# recorded his first collegiate double-double with 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.

St. Scholastica Saints (0-2)
The Saints have played well in each of the first two games this season; however, it has been the lack of depth that has hurt them in the two losses … The CSS bench has scored a total of six points in the first two games in 74 minutes of action … When the Saints starters are on the court they have been outscoring teams by 17 points … Brett Tester (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) has scored in double-figures in each of the first two games, averaging 16 points and seven rebounds … #Danny Schmitz# scored 19 points in the season opener, but was held scoreless for the first time since early in his sophomore year on Saturday against the Cobbers … Schmitz has fouled out in each of the first two games.

The Rams will come in to Tuesday's matchup 0-3 on the year, including a pair of losses against the predicted top two teams in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) under their belts University of Minnesota-Morris and Northwestern College … North Central returns five players from last year's squad and have 12 newcomers on the roster … The Rams will be led by sophomore Nathan Roeder, who averaged 13.2 points per game last season … Roeder has averaged 20.7 in the first three games this year.
