ANOTHER SHUTOUT IN WOMEN’S SOCCER REGULAR SEASON FINALE

Beatt scores two as Saints finish UMAC play unbeaten.

ST. PAUL – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team finished undefeated in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) with a 3-0 shutout of Northwestern College in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints finish the regular season with a 14-4-2 record, including a 13-0-1 UMAC season. The Eagles fall to 11-8-0 on the season and 11-3-0 in the UMAC. CSS will be the top seed in the UMAC Postseason Tournament beginning Tuesday afternoon, while the Eagles finish second in the conference.

#Andrea Beatt# scored two goals on the afternoon, including the Saints' first just five minutes into the game. Beatt came back with the Saints' third goal in the 75th minute, with assists from #Kaylee Gombold# and #Malia Grosskreutz#.

Between Beatt's goals, #Taylor Cunningham# netted her seventh of the season just before the 26-minute mark of the first, with an assist from #Logan Williamson#.

#Bailey Mahlum# made one save to preserve her sixth shutout of the season. Tara Hanson made five saves for the Eagles in the loss. In total, the Saints outshot the Eagles 10-1 in the game.

The Saints will host the University of Minn.-Morris on Tuesday at Saints Field in the UMAC Tournament Semifinals. The winner of the UMAC Tournament will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
