RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team played the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to a 2-2 tie on a rainy, blustery Tuesday at Remer Field.

The Falcons (10-7-1) scored first in the 37th minute when Jackie Rosenholm scored an unassisted goal. River Falls held a 1-0 lead at halftime with the Saints having a slight edge in shots, 7-6.

After a quiet first 30 minutes of the second half, action really picked up in the final 15 minutes of regulation as the Saints (12-4-2) tied it in the 80th minute on #Andrea Beatt#'s team leading eighth goal of the season.

The Falcons regained the lead over five minutes later on Alyssa Manor's eighth goal on the campaign. Just 24 seconds after that, #Claire Lubansky# tied the game back up with her fourth goal as the game went to overtime. Five of the last six meetings in the series have gone to overtime.

Both teams got off two shots in the first overtime, with each goalkeeper making a save. The Saints had the best opportunities in the second overtime, putting two shots on net, but both were denied as the contest ended in a 2-2 tie.

#Bailey Mahlum# had six saves for the Saints, while Rachel Thompson had seven saves for the Falcons. The Saints had a 17-13 shot advantage, but the Falcons had the edge in corner kicks, 10-1.

The team's then played a shootout to determine who would win the Chalice, a traveling trophy that was established last year that would go to the winner. The Falcons ended up winning the shootout 3-2 and capturing the Chalice for this year. #Joey Moore# and #Shannon Carlson# both converted their kicks for CSS.

The Saints will finish the regular season this weekend with games at Crown College on Friday and Northwestern College on Saturday. The Saints can clinch the outright regular season conference championship with a win against Crown on Friday. Friday's action begins at approximately 3:30 p.m.
