DULUTH, Minn. – Freshman #Logan Williamson# netted her first collegiate goal in the 11th minute to lead the St. Scholastica Saints women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) rival Bethany Lutheran College on Friday afternoon.

The Saints (11-4-1, 10-0-1 UMAC) have scored just one goal against Bethany Lutheran (9-5-2, 5-3-2 UMAC) in 2010, but it was enough to escape with a win and a tie against the Vikings for the season series.

With the Saints pressuring shortly after the ten-minute mark of the first half, the Vikings cleared the ball out to about the 30 yard line, where Williamson turned the ball right back and launched one over the goalie's head for an unassisted score.

Junior goalkeeper #Bailey Mahlum# made two saves to preserve the shutout for the Saints, her fifth in her last seven starts. Jada Holden made seven saves while taking the loss for the Vikings.

CSS out-shot the Vikings 17-2, including eight unanswered shots in the first half. #Megan Stingle# led the Saints with three shots on goal, while #Nicole Brandt# added three shots of her own, including one on net.

The Saints will be Power in Pink tomorrow when they host Martin Luther at approximately 2 p.m., following the men's game. You can catch all of the action on csssaints.com, courtesy of the iFan Sports Network.
