PREVIEW: WOMEN’S SOCCER’S KICK IT TO CANCER WEEKEND THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team will be a hosting a Kick It to Cancer Weekend when it faces Bethany Lutheran on Friday and Martin Luther on Saturday. The event is to promote breast cancer awareness.

Game Times:
Friday vs. Bethany Lutheran – 3:30 p.m.
Saturday vs. Martin Luther –  2 p.m.

Pink Power:
The Saints will be wearing pink Under Armour uniforms this weekend to promote breast cancer awareness. Pink t-shirts will be sold at both games at $12 apiece. There will also be a 50-50 raffle and a silent auction for three pink uniforms. One jersey will be auctioned off on Friday and two on Saturday. Also donations will be encouraged. All of the proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Last Action:
The Saints are coming off a thrilling double overtime victory over Augsburg College on Tuesday. #Andrea Beatt# scored with less than two minutes to play to give the Saints the 2-1 victory.

St. Scholastica Saints (10-4-1, 9-0-1 UMAC)
The Saints are unbeaten in its last 11 games, including having won eight straight … With a sweep this weekend, along with a Northwestern loss, CSS can clinch a regular season championship … If Northwestern were to tie one match this weekend and the Saints sweep, they would clinch at least a share of the regular season championship … The Saints have allowed just three goals in conference matches this season … #Shannon Carlson# leads the conference with four game-winning goals this season … Goalkeeper #Bailey Mahlum# is second in the league with a 0.77 goals-against-average.

Bethany Lutheran Vikings (9-4-2, 5-2-2 UMAC)
Bethany Lutheran is currently in third place in conference standings after a 5-2-2 start to the season in UMAC play…The leading scorer for the Vikings is Kelli Kitzmann who has 10 goals on the year to put her second in the conference…Kitzmann is also leading the team in points with 23 on the year…Paige Taylor has the most assists for the Vikings with seven, to give her third in the conference for that category…Jada Holden and Alexa Mowery are splitting time in net with both over 630 minutes logged this year…The tandem is averaging 0.83 goals-against-average on the year…After losing their first game of the year, the Vikings have won nine of thirteen, with two ties and both losses coming by the hands of Northwestern.

The Knights have five players with five or more goals on the year with Linda Kenyon tops of that category with ten goals…Kenyon is second in the UMAC in goals scored…Bethany Schultz has nine goals and eight assists on the year to give her 26 points total, which is tied for first in the UMAC in that category…Hannah Mattek has nine assists on the year to lead the Knights in that category…Allison Snyder is the team's primary goalkeeper with over 950 minutes between the pipes so far this year.
