PREVIEW: VOLLEYBALL TAKES TO THE ROAD FOR THREE MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

DULUTH, Minn. – With two weeks left in the regular season, the St. Scholastica volleyball team will play two Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) foes in Martin Luther and Bethany Lutheran as well as Coe College (Iowa) in non-conference action this weekend.

Match Times:
Friday: @ Martin Luther 7 p.m.
Saturday: @ Bethany Lutheran 11 a.m. | vs. Coe 1 p.m.

The Saints are coming off a 3-0 weekend, including an upset of then No.10-ranked University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Saints also defeated Minnesota-Morris in four sets and swept Presentation College.

St. Scholastica Saints (21-6, 9-0 UMAC)
The Saints are 9-0 in conference play for the first time since the 1984 season when they went 12-0 on the year… The Saints have 14, three-set sweeps already this season… #Anna Zyvoloski# leads the UMAC with 380 kills and is 22nd in the country with 4.09 kills per set … #Paige Hardy# is second in the conference with 316 kills … #Sarah Kurtovich# also leads the conference with 10.33 assists/set … The Saints have a .244 hitting percentage, which is the best in the conference and 32nd best in Division III … #Nikki Hughes# is the conference and team leader in digs with 4.61 per set.

Martin Luther Knights (14-10, 5-4 UMAC)
The Knights have won five of their last seven to give them a 14-10 record on the year and fifth placing in the UMAC standings right now…Rebecca Engelbrecht and Emily Boldt are leading the team in kills with 2.91 and 2.37 per set respectively…Mackenzie Krentz is the team's leading setter with 8.93 assists per set…Renee Peters is the team leader in digs with 4.13 per set to give her third in the conference…Rachel Hein is the only player in the UMAC averaging one block per set with 1.13.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. MLC: 26-13)
The Saints swept the Knights on Homecoming at the beginning of the month. Anna Zyvoloski (Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS (Minn.-Duluth)) had 17 kills in the match. Hardy added a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs. Hughes had a team-high 14 digs in the match.

Bethany Lutheran Vikings (9-12, 4-5 UMAC)
Bethany Lutheran is sixth in the conference with a 4-5 record so far in UMAC play…Emily Schrupp and Vanessa Harkins are leading the team in kills with 2.33 and 2.14 per set respectively…Assisting those two is Nicole Jones with an average of 7.29 assists per set…Tayler Kahlow is leading the Vikings in assists with 3.57 per set.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. BLC: 8-7)
The Saints swept the Vikings in three sets in an early October match-up. Paige Hardy (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) had 15 kills and 17 digs in the victory.

Coe Kohawks (16-10, 2-4 IIAC)
The Kohawks have started off the year with a 16-10 overall and a 2-4 mark in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC)… Coe has lost three straight matches … Kaitlin McClimon and Molly Steffens are the team leaders in kills per set with 3.47 and 3.07 per set…Emily Ryan is the team's setter with 9.83 assists per set…Brittany Shickell is leading the team in digs with 4.67 per set. Ryan and Shickell were both named IIAC players of the week for their respective position this past week.
