PREVIEW: FINAL THREE HOME MATCHES FOR VOLLEYBALL THIS WEEKEND

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team will host two Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) foes in University of Minnesota-Morris and Presentation College as well as 10th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh this weekend in Reif Gymnasium at the Burns Wellness Commons.

Match Times:
Friday: vs. Morris 7 p.m.
Saturday: vs. Presentation 12 p.m. | vs. UW-Oshkosh (Around 2:30-3)

St. Scholastica Saints (18-6, 7-0 UMAC)
The Saints are 7-0 in conference play for the first time since the 199 season when they started 8-0… The Saints have 13, three-set sweeps already this season and had only 10 all of last season … #Anna Zyvoloski# leads the UMAC with 335 kills … #Paige Hardy# is second in the conference with 269 kills … #Sarah Kurtovich# also leads the conference with 10.36 assists/set … The Saints have a .246 hitting percentage, which is the best in the conference … Lone senior #Molly Roith# will be playing her final three regular season home matches as a Saint … Roith has played in 99 career matches and recorded 60 service aces and 697 career digs.

University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars (12-10, 5-2 UMAC)
The Cougars enter the weekend, having won five straight matches, including crucial road wins last week at Bethany Lutheran and Martin Luther … Jordan Olerud was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week this week … Megan Theis is leading the team in kills with 2.85 per set … Three other Cougars are averaging over two kills a set … Natalie Thomas is second in the UMAC with 10.13 assists per set.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. Morris: 15-2)
The Saints swept the Cougars in late September at Morris. Zyvoloski and Hardy led the way for the Saints offensively with 17 kills apiece. Kurtovich had 39 set assists in the match.

Presentation Saints (1-16, 1-6 UMAC)
The Saints got their first victory of the season as they defeated Crown College 3-1 at the start of this month … The Saints have been swept in 15 matches this year … Presentation returns three experienced players from the 2009 season including senior Amanda Feist and sophomores Kelsey Schmidt and Amber Sandoz … Feist had 109 kills with 33 blocks and 20 aces last year, while Schmidt tallied 518 assists and 181 digs to her name … Helping the Saints this season will be incoming freshman Brynn Olson, whose Arlington, S.D. team finished as the state runner-up in 2009 … Newcomer Tina Boldt is another Arlington product, who earned high all-conference honors during her high school career … Boldt is leading the team in kills with 1.43 per set. Olson has the most digs on the team with 3.36 digs per set.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. Presentation: 19-0)
In the first UMAC game of the year for both teams, CSS defeated Presentation in three straight sets. Hardy and Zyvoloski led CSS with 13 kills apiece. Hardy matched a career-high with five service aces.

The 10th ranked team in the nation, the Titans have started off the year with a record of 20-3 … The Titans have yet to lose to a Wisconsin/Minnesota school yet this season … Oshkosh has won nine of 10 matches with its lone loss coming against # 6 Christopher Newport … Aleisha Bagin is leading the Titans in kills with 3.36 kills per set … Four other players have over two kills per set … Morgan Liebetrau is the team leader is sets with 8.66 assists per set … As a team the Titans are averaging 1.65 service aces per set … Christina Cahoon has 5.75 digs per set to lead the team in that category … Two Titans are averaging over 0.7 blocks per set.
