EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – After a tough weekend last week, the seventh-ranked St. Scholastica hockey team did what it had to do and completed a sweep over the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a 2-1 victory tonight at the Hobbs Ice Center.
The Saints improve to 13-3-3 overall and to 7-2-3 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA). The Blugolds fall to 6-10-3 overall and 2-7-3 in the league.

That score held up all the way until the 1:53-mark of the third period when the Blugolds' Joe Bluhm scored to make it 2-1. However, Eau Claire would not capitalize with the extra attacker and the Saints held on for the 2-1 victory.

Sr.-Ottawa, Ont.) stopped 30 shots to improve to 7-1-2 this season, while Brandon Stephenson had 25 saves in the loss for the Blugolds.
There were a total of 14 penalties between the two teams and both teams went a combined 1-for-12 on the power-play.
The Saints will be on the road again next weekend as the format goes back to recent seasons, playing two different opponents back-to-back.
