EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team dropped both of its matches today against the University of Wisconsin-Stout and 21st ranked Gustavus Adolphus at the UW-Eau Claire Labor Day Classic.

St. Scholastica started with UW-Stout. This was the second time this week that the Saints and Blue Devils have squared off. UW-Stout defeated St. Scholastica in five sets at the Northland College Quadrangular on Tuesday.

Today, the Blue Devils would win the first two sets 25-15, 25-22 respectively. The Saints kept the match alive by winning the third set 25-22. Despite 19 CSS kills in the fourth set, the Blue Devils took the set by a score of 25-23 to win the match.

#Rebecca Udermann# (Sr.-Rosemount, Minn.) and #Paige Hardy# (Fr.-Hibbing, Minn.) had 11 kills apiece to lead the Saints. #Alyssa McDonald# (Fr.-Chisholm, Minn.) had 24 set assists and #Sarah Kurtovich# (Fr.-Andover, Minn.) had 22 set assists.

St. Scholastica's final match of the day would be against the 21st ranked Gusties. The Saints battled in the first two sets only to come up short 25-21 and 26-24. It was all Gustavus Adolphus in the third set winning 25-12 to complete the sweep.

Paige Hardy (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) led the way with nine kills. The Saints fall to 0-6 on the season. However, the Saints started the season 0-5 last season and went on to 17-12 overall.

The Saints are back on the road on Wednesday when they face both Augsburg College and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at the Augsburg Triangular. The Saints and Auggies get underway at 3 p.m.
