GROH STARS AS SAINTS SHUT OUT VIKINGS

DULUTH Minn. – The Saints women's soccer team earned their second shutout in as many days Saturday afternoon, celebrating Homecoming with a 3-0 win over the Bethany Lutheran Vikings. 

#Angie Groh# (Sr.-Andover, Minn.) again led the Saints, scoring the opening goal late in the first half off of a #Abby Arrowsmith# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn.) corner kick. Groh later assisted on each of the Saints' second-half goals to finish with four points on the afternoon. 

Two first-year Saints shined in the second half as #Kaylee Gombold# (Fr.-Stillwater, Minn.) and #Hannah Roy# (Fr.-Cloquet, Minn.) each netted their second goals of the season. 

The Saints finished with 21 shots, including 15 on net, while not allowing a single shot by the Vikings. #Bailey Mahlum# (So.-Bismarck, N.D.) started in net for the Saints and earned her fourth career shutout and third win of the season. 

The Saints, now 6-3-1 on the season (4-0-1 UMAC), will be on the road next weekend when they play the University of Minnesota-Morris on Saturday and Presentation College on Sunday. The Cougars and Saints are scheduled to play at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, following the men's match.
