MOORHEAD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team gave up two goals in the first 14 minutes on its way to falling to Principia College (Ill.) 3-0 today at the Cobber Classic, hosted by Concordia-Moorhead.

The Saints fall to 3-2-0 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 3-2-0. The Panthers were an NCAA Tournament team last season. This was the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

The Panthers scored their first goal 7:18 seconds into the contest as Alicia Girbes-Pierce earned the score. In the 14th minute, Principia added to its lead with a goal from Rachel Publicover to make the score 2-0. The Saints' #Joey Moore# (Fr.-Duluth, Minn./East) would hit the post in the first half, but the score remained 2-0 at the break.

The Panthers put the match away in the 71st minute when Elizabeth Post scored to make the final tally 3-0.

The Saints were out-shot 13-8 in the match. #Erin Olejnicak# (So.-Brainerd, Minn.) picked up her first loss of the season for CSS, while Kristen Crandall had the win for the Panthers. #Megan Stingle# (Fr.-Duluth, Minn./East) led the Saints with two shots.
