MEN’S BASKETBALL FALLS AT CONCORDIA-MOORHEAD

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team was defeated by Concordia-Moorhead this evening 79-48 at Memorial Auditorium.

The Saints fall to 1-2 this season, while the Cobbers improve to 2-0. The Saints fall to 1-4 all-time against Concordia-Moorhead. Tonight's meeting was the first since the 1990 season.

The Cobbers went on an early 7-0 run and never trailed the rest of the way. The Saints got back within two with 12 minutes left in the first half. However, the Cobbers responded by hitting three straight 3-pointers to get the margin back to 11. Concordia went into halftime with a 36-23 advantage.

The Saints shot 33-percent in the first half, while the Cobbers shot 47-percent and hit six, 3-pointers.

The margin did not get closer than 12 in the second half as the Cobbers had a 9-0 and an 8-0 run in the second half to cruise to a 79-48 victory.

CSS shot 35-percent for the game, while the Cobbers shot 74-percent in the second half to finish at 59-percent for the game. Concordia finished with 13, 3-point field goals.

#Brett Tester# (Fr.-Andover, Minn.), #Danny Schmitz# (Jr.-Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson), and #Bryan Johnson# (So.-Randolph, Wis.) all had 10 points to lead the Saints. #Josh Kosloske# (Fr.-Oakfield, Wis.) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Karl Olson had 16 points to lead all scorers for the Cobbers.

The Saints will be at rival University of Wisconsin-Superior next Saturday. The tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
