DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team captured its sixth straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season championship today with a 4-0 decision over the University of Minnesota-Morris at a soggy Saints Field.

The Saints improve to 14-3-2 overall and 12-0-1 in the conference. The Cougars fall to 9-9-0 overall and to 8-5-0 in the league. The Saints have not lost a conference match in the regular season in 70 consecutive contests.

On senior day at Saints Field, CSS capitalized on a corner kick 5:13 seconds into the match when senior #Angie Groh# (Sr.-Andover, Minn./St. Francis) scored her ninth goal of the season to make it 1-0. Seniors #Cortney McKenzie# (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) and #Melisa Entinger# (Sr.-Mound, Minn./Holy Trinity) had the assists. Senior #Jen Krokum# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./East) then added her ninth goal of the season less than three minutes later off another McKenzie corner kick to make it 2-0.

The score remained 2-0 into the second half when another senior, #Ellyn Litecky# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./East) scored her fourth of the season in the 54th minute to extend the lead to 3-0. The final goal of the contest was scored by #Cassie Wirth# (So.-Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) in the 61st minute with an assist from Melisa Entinger (Mound, Minn./Holy Trinity HS) to make the final 4-0.

The Saints out-shot the Cougars 11-1 in the match. #Bailey Mahlum# (So.-Bismarck, N.D.) stopped one shot to earn her fifth shutout of the season. Emily Jacob had five saves in the loss for the Cougars.
