ABERDEEN, S.D. – Less than 24 hours after getting swept at Morris, the St. Scholastica volleyball team responded with a 3-1 victory this afternoon at Presentation College.
The Saints are now 14-12 overall and 8-3 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Presentation falls to 2-20 overall and 2-9 in the league. The Saints have never lost to Presentation in 19 meetings.
Things did not start out so good for CSS in the first set. The set was tight early, but Presentation ended up taking the set by a score of 25-23. That is just the fourth set won by Presentation in the series history.
The Saints then fell behind 12-10 in the second set, but then went on to win 13 of the next 15 points and take the set 25-15. The third set belonged to CSS as it never trailed and won by a score of 25-13. The Saints scored the first seven points of set number four and won the match going away 25-13.
St. Scholastica had a season-high 61 kills in the match. #Paige Hardy# (
