DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team scored three goals in the final 30 minutes to defeat Crown College this afternoon 3-0 at Saints Field.

The Saints improve to 11-3-2 overall and 9-0-1 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Storm fall to 5-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference. The Saints have won 67 straight UMAC regular season matches. It also was the 14th straight win at home for St. Scholastica.

CSS controlled possession for most of the match, but the Storm had the best scoring opportunities, especially in the first half. On three occasions the Storm had a breakaway, but every time it was turned away by CSS goalkeeper #Erin Olejnicak# (So.-Brainerd, Minn.). The Saints had eight shots on goal in the first half, but most were right at the Crown goalkeeper.

The Storm continued to have good chances at the beginning of the second half, but it would be the Saints that struck first as #Angie Groh# (Sr.-Andover, Minn./St. Francis) played a ball to #Ellyn Litecky# (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./East), who headed the ball off the crossbar, but #Melisa Entinger# (Sr.-Mound, Minn./Holy Trinity) was there to get the rebound and head it in the goal in the 63rd minute. That was Entinger's team-high ninth goal of the season.

CSS added insurance in the 77th minute when #Rainee Eby# (Fr.-Billings, Mont.) scored her second goal of the season on a header off of a corner by #Nicole Brandt# (Jr.-Rochester, Minn./Lourdes). #Beth Flesvig# (Sr.-Proctor, Minn.) put the match away three minute later with her third goal of the season to make the final score 3-0. Brandt also had the assist on that goal.

The Saints out-shot the Storm 29-13 in the match. Erin Olejnicak (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS) made a season-high nine saves to improve to 5-1-2 on the year. It was also her fifth shutout of the season. The Saints extend their conference shutout streak to 885 minutes and 39 seconds. Merissa Mosher had 10 saves in the loss for the Storm.

The Saints will be at home again tomorrow when it hosts Northwestern College at Saints Field. The Eagles tied the Saints earlier this season. The match is scheduled to begin at noon and can be seen live courtesy of the iFan Sports Network at csssaints.com.
