MANKATO, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team won its fifth straight match tonight with a 3-1 victory at Bethany Lutheran College.
The Saints improve to 12-11 overall and 6-2 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Vikings fall to 6-14 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
CSS scored the first three points in the first set and never trailed. The set got tight late, but the Saints still prevailed 25-20. The Saints then scored the first seven points of the second set and went on to win that set 25-13.The Vikings avoided the sweep in set number three by pulling away late and winning 25-19.
The fourth set was the best set of the night as there were 13 ties and seven lead changes. CSS had a 7-1 lead, but Bethany Lutheran responded by taking a 10-9 lead. It was tight the rest of the way with the Vikings taking a 23-22 lead. However, a #Brittany Oakman# (

The Saints will look to avenge an earlier loss this season to Martin Luther College when it faces the Knights tomorrow afternoon in New Ulm. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
