MORRIS, Minn. – The St. Scholastica volleyball team won its second straight conference match tonight, defeating the University of Minnesota-Morris by a score 3-0 at the P.E. Center.

The Saints improve to 6-9 overall and 2-1 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Cougars fall to 4-9 overall and 0-3 in the UMAC. Morris has dropped seven of its last eight matches. CSS improves to 12-1 all-time against Morris and have won the last seven contests.

St. Scholastica came out strong with a first set attack percentage of .343 on its way to a 25-19 victory. The Saints had a match-high 14 kills in the first set. CSS then dominated the second set by a score of 25-10. The Saints did not commit an attack error in that set. The third set went the way the previous two sets went as the Saints finished off the Cougars, winning 25-14.

CSS finished with 34 kills in the match, while just committing seven errors. #Amy Thompson# (Sr.-Onamia, Minn.) led the Saints with 11 kills. Thompson has led the Saints in kills in seven matches this season. #Caitlin Aten# (Fr.-Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) had 30 assists and #Cassie Roden# (Sr.-Sauk Rapids, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) had a team-high 20 digs.

The Saints will be in action again tomorrow night when they face Presentation College at 7 p.m. in another UMAC contest.
