Todd Bouchie

Todd Bouchie enters his tenth season as the Head Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Coach at St. Scholastica in 2025-26.

Bouchie has been part of the CSS track & field program since 2005 and became a full-time assistant in 2010. During his time as an assistant coach he coached primarily throwers, high jumpers and multi-event athletes. Bouchie was named the program’s Head Coach in August of 2016.

Since 2012, Bouchie has guided 17 individual athletes and one relay team to 44 NCAA Division III National Championship meet appearances and 14 All-American performances. Those tallies include three-time All-Americans Kevin Wagner (Decathlon/Heptathlon) and Becky Huberty (Hammer Throw/Shot Put), and two-time All-Americans Lily Beneke (hammer throw) and Trent Beseth (shot put).

As Head Coach, Bouchie’s women’s teams captured four Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Indoor Championships and two Outdoor titles in his first four seasons. In 2021, he guided the men’s team to its first conference outdoor championship since 2015. He coached 10 UMAC Performers of the Meet between the men and the women and nine All-Region performers. He is a six-time UMAC Coach of the Year (5-Women, 1-Men). Since joining the MIAC in 2021, track and field athletes have won numerous individual championships and all-MIAC awards, including indoor field athlete of the year honors for Trent Beseth in 2025.

The track and field teams have also performed exceptionally well academically during Bouchie’s tenure as head coach, with both the men and women earning USTFCCCA all-academic team honors every year of his tenure as head coach, which is nine years in a row. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished with GPA’s high enough to be ranked in the top ten in all of NCAA Division III at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year.

In 2016, Bouchie was named the Central Region's Men's Assistant Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the indoor season. During the indoor portion, he coached two All-Americans and four all-region performers. During the outdoor season, Bouchie coached decathlete Kevin Wagner to a third place finish and All-American honors for the second straight year at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Bouchie coached Wagner to four straight NCAA Outdoor Championship appearances.

Bouchie coached the women’s program’s first NCAA All-American in 2013 as Becky Huberty placed fourth in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Huberty became the third St. Scholastica Athlete to earn NCAA All-American accolades three times, including a program-best third place finish in the hammer throw in 2014. Huberty also earned All-America honors in the Shot Put at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships becoming the first CSS Men’s/Women’s Track & Field Athlete to earn All-America honors in both seasons in the same year.

During the 2011-12 season, Bouchie had three throwers and one multi-event athlete qualify for the NCAA Championships, including thrower Alec Seeley, who became the first Saint to qualify for both the indoor and outdoor championships in the same season.

Prior to coming over to CSS, Bouchie coached for seven years (five as an assistant, two as a head coach) at Cloquet High School. As the throws coach for the Lumberjacks, he guided his throwers to six qualifications for the Minnesota State Track & Field Championship meet. At Cloquet, he also coached many individual conference champions, and one school record holder.

Bouchie was a member of the 1996 and 1997 University of Minnesota Duluth track & field teams that captured the indoor and outdoor Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championships in both years. He was the indoor NSIC shot put champion in 1996. Bouchie graduated from UMD in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education Teaching.

He currently lives in Cloquet with his wife Jenny and daughter Alex.
