Blake Peterson Headshot

Blake Peterson

Blake Peterson will enter his first season as Saints Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2026 season.

Peterson brings a proven track record of developing high-level pitching staffs and mentoring student-athletes, along with coaching experience at both the NJCAA and NCAA levels.

Peterson joins the Saints following a strong tenure at Earlham College, where he was an assistant and later associate head coach. Under his leadership, Earlham's pitching staff saw significant improvement. In 2024, the Quakers allowed the fewest walks in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (165) and posted a team-wide 1.58 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The starting rotation threw five complete games and logged 201 innings over the season.

In 2023, his rotation recorded a 4.95 ERA, earning seven wins and four complete games. The staff struck out 270 batters overall, highlighting Peterson's emphasis on command and competitive presence on the mound.

Prior to Earlham, Peterson served as interim head coach at Southwestern Community College during the 2021–2022 season, leading all aspects of the program and helping guide players through both athletic and academic development.

Peterson's playing career took place at Luther College (2012–2016), where he earned all-conference honors and was twice named pitcher of the week during his senior season. He received national recognition as a Rawlings/ABCA Second Team All-Region honoree in 2016. He remains the program's single-season leader in shutouts (3) and ranks second all-time in single-season strikeouts (74).

Originally from Baxter, Minnesota, Peterson brings a deep passion for the game and a commitment to building strong, well-rounded student-athletes.
