Julie Visger

Julie Visger enters her fifth season on the St. Scholastica volleyball staff in 2022.

Visger, then Rainey, was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the nationally-ranked University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball program. While with the Bulldogs, she earned First Team All-American honors and was named the Libero of the Year for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) her final two seasons.

Visger holds program records for digs in a season (699) and career digs (2,465), which ranks in the top 25 of NCAA Division II all-time.
 
After graduating in 2015 from UMD with a degree in Business Administration, the Stewartville, Minnesota native was offered the NCAA Postgraduate Internship position in the Division II Governance Department at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Ind. She managed all social media platforms for Division II and supported the National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. After the internship, she returned to UMD and was chosen as the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women Internship grant recipient. She continued her work in the UMD Athletic Department in the areas of special events, fundraising, and operations. Visger is a recent graduate of the 2017-18 class of Leadership Duluth where community and leadership are taken to new levels. In 2017 Visger earned her Masters of Education Degree.

In her free time, Visger enjoys playing volleyball, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. She currently resides in Duluth, Minn. with her husband Richard Visger.
