Cal Barr enters his first season on Coach Reyelts’ staff as the Director of Team Development. Barr has been involved in sports since 1962 (as a player, coach, official, administrator, sport minister, and sport parent). He played football, hockey, and baseball in the youth leagues of Duluth and at Duluth East High School.

He went on to play for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball organization from 1974-76. After that he played middle linebacker for the University of Minnesota-Duluth and signed with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Since his playing days he has logged over 46 seasons of coaching experience at the youth, high school, and university level in football, baseball, rugby, and soccer. He has earned the USSF D license and the NSCAA Level 2 Goalkeeper Diploma. Barr also has training and experience as a strength coach.

In addition to his playing and coaching experience, Barr brings 25 years of leadership in the collegiate environment. Leading student groups at UMD, UWS, CSS, and Arrowhead Community College, Barr brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in team building, student leadership development, and helping students grow in positive character and moral development.

Barr has served on the staff of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from 2001 to present. From 2004 to 2008 Barr was on assignment with 360sports as Director of Research & Development. He is currently the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Area Director for Northeastern Minnesota.
