Vasichek enters her eighth season at St. Scholastica and first as the Director of Fitness, Intramurals, and Recreation. She will also serve as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Athletics.
 
Vasichek most recently served for four seasons as the Head Coach for the St. Scholastica Women’s Hockey Team. Prior she served for four season as an Assistant Coach/Strength and Conditioning Coach. Vasichek has coached student-athletes that have earned 6 MIAC All-Conference Selections and 2 Honorable Mentions, 16 ACHA All-American Scholars, and 1 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient (Lori Huseby). In her first year as Head Coach, the program earned their first ever MIAC playoff win over Augsburg.
 
The Great Falls, Montana native played defenseman for the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2001-05. She was a member of the 2002 and 2003 National Championship teams. Vasichek earned Second Team All-America accolades in 2004 and 2005 and was part of the 2003-04 U.S. National Team.
 
She was an Assistant Women’s Hockey Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at NCAA Division III Bowdoin College (Maine) in 2007-08 and was the Strength and Conditioning Coach/Hockey Equipment Manager for the 2010 UMD National Championship team and the 2009 UMD Soccer Team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. She was on the staff of the NCAA Runner-Up Women’s Hockey Team in 2007, and the 2009 that went to the Frozen Four. Her collegiate background includes working with basketball, ice hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, softball, and squash.
 
Since earning her degree from UMD in Applied Science in 2005, Vasichek has worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at a variety of levels including Rochester Mayo HS Boys Hockey Team in 2012-13, for UMD’s Women’s Hockey, Women’s Soccer and Softball teams for five years (2005-2007, 2008-2010, 2013-2015), the International Ice Hockey Federation in 2011 in Slovakia, the North American Hockey Academy in 2010- 11 and Czech Republic Women’s Hockey National Team in 2011. She has maintained
certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association for 20 years as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. In the past she maintained a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certification. This past summer, Vasichek returned to help as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the USA Hockey 15 Development Camp. She was worked at past camps for USA
Hockey and Minnesota Hockey.

Vasichek completed her Master’s Degree in Education from UMD in the Spring of 2021 and is currently working on a second Master’s in Exercise Physiology at St. Scholastica. Vasichek also was a member of the Eue Fellows Program in 2023-2024 at St. Scholastica and completed a project exploring transgender inclusion in the NCAA.
