Kyle Yost was named head coach of the St. Scholastica women’s basketball program in August 2026.
Yost arrived at St. Scholastica with NCAA Division III head coaching experience, a background coaching championship programs and extensive recruiting ties throughout Minnesota.
Prior to joining the Saints, Yost served as an assistant coach at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul during the 2022-23 season and again from 2024-26.
During his first season at Northwestern, the Eagles finished 19-9 overall and 15-1 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play, winning both the UMAC regular-season and tournament championships and advancing to the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament. Yost helped coach a Northwestern roster that included UMAC Player of the Year Lexi Hagen.
After returning to Northwestern in 2024, Yost helped the Eagles earn a share of the 2024-25 UMAC regular-season championship. Northwestern finished the season 20-10 and placed fifth at the 2025 National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament.
Throughout his time at Northwestern, Yost helped coach and recruit numerous all-conference performers, including first-team, second-team, honorable mention and all-defensive selections.
Between his two stints at Northwestern, Yost served as the head women’s basketball coach at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, during the 2023-24 season. While at Covenant, he coached Megan Rouse to Collegiate Conference of the South Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-CCS honors.
Yost has also been heavily involved in Minnesota AAU basketball as the Girls Basketball Director and Elite Teams Contact for Minnesota Crossfire, providing him with extensive experience developing and recruiting student-athletes throughout Minnesota and the surrounding region.
A 2022 graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, Yost earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. During his time at Taylor, he worked with the Trojans men’s basketball program in recruiting, player development, scouting, film, operations and administration.
