Janice Sayovitz

Janice Sayovitz returns to Coach Deadrick’s coaching staff for her 25th season with the Saints in 2020-21. Among her many duties, Sayovitz works with the post players where she herself played during her standout career at St. Scholastica from 1984-1988.
 
In the fall of 2012, Sayovitz was inducted into the College of St. Scholastica’s Athletics Hall of fame. She was part of the second class ever inducted. She was also part of the 1987-88 NLCAA National Championship team that was honored.
 
At center, Sayovitz is the all-time leading rebounder (812) and fourth all-time leading scorer (1,310) in program history. Sayovitz, then Monsaas, also played local basketball during her high school years at Duluth Central.
 
As a registered nurse, Sayovitz has spent the past 29 years working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary’s Duluth Clinic.
 
She is married to former CSS hockey standout Steve Sayovitz and they reside in Duluth with a son Braeden and daughter Raeanna.
