Andre Watt begins his eighth season as assistant coach in 2017-18 after volunteering with the Saints from the team’s inception in 2007.  Watt was a skiing prodigy, winning the Minnesota State High School meet as a sophomore for the Duluth East Greyhounds. 
 
As a junior competitor, he was one of the top skiers his age in the United States, finishing second to Kris Freeman at the USSA Junior Olympics as a J1.  Watt trained under respected Russian coaches Nikolai and Antonina Anikin as an independent racer before moving onto the CXC Elite Team in 2005.  Watt continues to train and race, splitting his time with the Saints coaching staff while racing for the Rossignol Marathon Team.  His father, Adrian, was a 1968 US Olympic Team member in ski jumping.
 
Watt is the store manager for Continental Ski and Bike in Duluth.
