KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The St. Scholastica women's golf team closed the Midwest Region Classic - Women with its best round of the tournament, shooting a 333 (+45) on Saturday to move up five places in the final standings.

The Saints finished 12th with a 681 (+105) at Brighton Dale Links - Blue Spruce on September 25-26. St. Scholastica followed an opening-round 348 (+60) with its 333 in Round 2, improving by 15 strokes. The final-round score was the ninth-best team round of the day. The Saints also recorded three bounce-back birdies during the tournament.

Freshman Emma Berg (Virginia, MN/Rock Ridge High School) and senior Kate Anderson (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) shared the top finish for St. Scholastica, tying for 52nd at 168 (+24).

Berg improved six strokes in the final round, following an 87 (+15) with an 81 (+9). Her 81 was the Saints' best individual round of the tournament and tied for the 27th-best score of Round 2. Berg also finished with a team-best three birdies, tied for 20th overall, while her 16 holes at par or better were the most among the Saints.

Anderson posted matching rounds of 84 (+12) for her 168 total. She and Berg each averaged 3.50 on par-3 holes and 4.70 on par-4 holes, sharing the team lead in both categories.

Freshman Anneka Voerding (Andover, MN/Andover High School) tied for 62nd at 170 (+26), improving from an 88 (+16) to an 82 (+10) in the final round. Her 5.50 par-5 scoring average was the best on the team.

Freshman Isabelle Dingmann (Annandale, MN/Annandale High School) tied for 88th at 176 (+32), shooting 90 (+18) and 86 (+14) and improving by four strokes in Round 2.

Also competing for the Saints were Olivia Martalock (Hermantown MN/Hermantown HS) (T88th, 176), Mylee Young (Eveleth, MN/Rock Ridge HS) (T131st, 185) and Natalie Berghuis (Park Rapids, MN/Park Rapids HS) (T179th, 211).

St. Scholastica returns to action at the MIAC Championship on Oct. 2-4.
