SUPERIOR, Wis. – Senior Jack Schmitz (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) tied for 10th and closed with the St. Scholastica men's golf team's best round of the tournament as the Saints completed the 8th Annual Twin Ports Collegiate on September 18-19.

St. Scholastica finished ninth at Nemadji GC - East/West, a par-72, 6,760-yard layout, with a 321-308-629 (+53). The Saints improved by 13 strokes in the second round, and their 308 (+20) ranked seventh among team scores for the round. St. Scholastica also totaled 18 birdies, tied for third among all teams.

Schmitz shot 77-75-152 (+8), with his second-round 75 (+3) tied for the 11th-best score of the round. He played 27 of 36 holes at par or better, tied for sixth in the field, and posted a 4.10 par-4 scoring average that ranked tied for 12th.

Freshman Cole Stever (South St. Paul, MN/South St. Paul Senior HS) tied for 29th at 79-78-157 (+13) and recorded a team-high five birdies, tied for ninth in the field. He also had two bounce-back birdies during the tournament.

AJ Rogalla (Thief River Falls/Lincoln HS), competing as an individual, tied for 44th with a 78-81-159 (+15). He played 23 of 36 holes at par or better and tied for 10th in the field with a 5.13 par-5 scoring average.

Freshman Kyler Berg (Hermantown, MN/Hermantown High School) tied for 48th at 81-79-160 (+16). His 3.50 par-3 scoring average was the best on the team, while he finished 24 holes at par or better.

Also competing for the Saints were Drew Bussey (Hibbing, MN/Hibbing HS) (T56th, 162), Riley Nadell (Maple Valley, WA/Tahoma High School) (T74th, 165), Daniel Guerra (T87th, 172) and Levi Klungtvedt (Dilworth, MN/Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton HS) (96th, 175).

The Saints next compete at the Midwest Region Classic, hosted by Benedictine University, at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wis., on September 25-26.
