DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica football team hosted Macalester College (3-6, 2-5 MIAC) for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) matchup this afternoon at Public Schools Stadium. It was the Saints' final home game of the season and Senior Day as well. The Saints' defense showed up big time in the second half, but they ultimately fell in this matchup 28-14.

First Half
Macalester took the opening possession down the field notched the scoreboard first three minutes in the game to take an early 7-0 lead. CSS responded quickly with a 64-yard touchdown pass from
Byron Bishop (Sublimity, Ore./Regis HS) to
Pete Saint Fleur (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips HS (Shasta College-Calif.)). A
Kyle Oswald (Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) point-after tied the game at 7-7. After a couple of stops by the CSS defense, the Scots scored on three consecutive possessions in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead into halftime.

Second Half
The second half saw great defense by both sides, with the Saints scoring the only points of the second half. The Saints would drive inside Macalester's 20-yardline on the opening possession of the second half, but would fumble inside on the 10-yardline. The CSS defense responded with a goal line stand on Macalester's ensuing possession.

The lone score of the half came on a 22-yard rushing touchdown by Bishop late in the fourth quarter, which made the game 28-14. An onside attempt by the Saints would be unsuccessful as the Scots took this matchup 28-14.

Bishop added 183 passing yards on the afternoon to go along with a touchdown pass. Bishop also led the Saints in the ground game, adding 63 yards on 13 carries and a rushing touchdown as well.
Mitchell Adrian (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) caught eight passes for 57 yards in the contest and went over 200 receptions in his career.

On the defensive side of the ball,
John Bonner (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) and
Anthony Vo (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville HS) recorded 13 tackles each. Vo also added a sack.
Tandrell Foster (Hurley, Wis./Hurley HS) also included a sack in the contest and 2.5 tackles for a loss in his final home game as a Saint.

Top Performers for Macalester
Michael Nadeau led the passing game for the Scots with 336 yards and two touchdown passes while completing 80 percent of his passing attempts. Logan Pampel added 64 yards on the ground on 14 carries. Rex Desso had 18 receptions for 106 yards.

The Saints (0-7, 0-7 MIAC) will conclude their season next week where they will travel to St. Paul, where they will face the Pipers of Hamline University (3-6,1-6 MIAC). Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
