ST. PAUL (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team saw its two-match win streak come to an end with a three-set loss to No. 24 Bethel University Saturday night in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action.
How it Happened
The Saints struggled coming off the bus with a negative hitting percentage in the opening set as the Royals (15-4, 4-1 MIAC) cruised to a 25-10 win.
The second set was tight early with the lead changing hands. However, Bethel went on a 7-0 run in the middle portion of the set to pull away and eventually take the set 25-17.
It was a 6-0 run early in the third set that did the Saints in as the Royals completed the sweep with a 25-16 win.
Top Performers
Jessica Remer (Grand Forks, N.D./Sacred Heart HS) led the Saints with eight kills.
Ashley Larson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) added five kills.
Katie Brostrom (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) had 13 assists and
Ellie Greenwaldt (Raymond, Minn./Central Minnesota Christian School) added 10 assists. Remer and
Alcia Draper (Williams, Minn./Lake of the Woods HS) each had a team-high 14 digs.
