MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica's women's soccer team fell to Augsburg University 2-1 on the road Wednesday evening in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play.
How it Happened
With tight defense, good saves, and some shots barely missing and hitting the posts, both Augsburg and CSS were left with zeros going into the half.
The second half was looking the same until the 74th minute of the game when St. Scholastica took the lead on a
Hunter Zamzow (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's School) free kick. Despite scoring first, Augsburg came back fast and scored their first goal of the game in the 76th minute. The Auggies (6-3-1, 3-1-0 MIAC) took the lead in the 85th minute of the game not leaving much time for the Saints to tie it up. Though they tried, the Saints were not able to bring back the win after ending the game 2-1.
