DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team surrendered two goals in each half in a 4-1 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday at Saints Field to wrap up action in the BSN Sports Labor Day Challenge.

How it Happened
Much like the game against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday, the Saints gave up two goals early as the Warhawks recorded tallies in the seventh and 12th minutes to take a 2-0 lead. That would be the score at the half.

The second half saw the Saints put pressure on the Warhawks (1-1) and were rewarded when Emily Olson (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) took advantage of a rebound and found the back of the net to make it 2-1. Hunter Zamzow (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's School) had her first collegiate point with the assist.

Unfortunately, five minutes later Whitewater extended the lead back to two goals. The Warhawks then added insurance in the 60th minute to make the final score 4-1.

Goalkeeping
Chiara DeLuca (Twig, Minn./Proctor HS) played the first 63 minutes and picked up the loss for the Saints. Alexa Gothard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (Lake Superior College)) played the final 27 minutes and made a pair of saves.

Nina Yonan made two saves to earn the win for the Warhawks.
