BLAINE, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's cross country team took home the Twin Cities Twilight championship Friday evening by 11 points to open the season with a statement.

Individual Winner: Frank Gustafson (Hamline) – 20:55
 
Top Performances
It was freshman runner Lars Dewall (Lakeland, Minn./Stillwater HS), in his first collegiate race, who paced the Saints with a runner-up finish in a time of 21:00. After not competing in 2018, senior Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) was ninth overall in a time of 21:26.
 
Junior Isaac Boedigheimer (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) was 12th overall, posting a time of 21:33. Junior Ryan Steger (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) was next in 18th place with a time of 22:06. The final Saint to score was sophomore Nick Matelich (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman HS (Montana State)) in 21st with a time of 22:15. Matelich was almost a minute faster than last year's time in this race.
 
Up Next
The Saints will be back in action on Thursday when they travel across the bridge to compete at the Dan Conway Classic at the Nemadji Golf Course.
