Volleyball Announces 2019 Recruiting Class

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica Head Volleyball Coach Dana Moore announced her recruiting class for the 2019 season on Monday.
 
The 2019 class features six freshmen which include two outside hitters, two middle blockers, a setter and a libero.
 
Katie Brostrom is a setter from Prior Lake High School. Brostrom was part of the 2017 squad that placed third in the State Tournament. The two-year starter was a Team Captain her senior season.
 
Kenzie Christiansen is a middle blocker from Bemidji High School. She was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year her senior season and participated in the State Softball Tournament in 2018.
 
Alcia Draper is a libero from Lake of the Woods High School. Draper is a five-time all-conference selection and was named the team's Most Valuable Player four times. She holds the school record for career digs (2,500). She was a three-time all-conference selection in basketball and 1,000-point career scorer, as well as, a two-time Section Qualifier in golf.
 
Ashley Larson is a middle blocker from Duluth Denfeld High School. Larson was an all-conference selection her senior season and nominated to play in two all-star games. Her sister, Haley, is currently a member of the St. Scholastica softball team.
 
Jessica Remer is an outside hitter from Sacred Heart High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Remer recorded 1,000 career kills in volleyball and 1,000 career points in basketball, while also participating in track & field.
 
Ellie Sholing is an outside hitter from Wabasha-Kellogg High School. Sholing was an all-conference selection her senior season and part of two conference championship squads. Sholing is also a two-time State Track & Field participant in the 800m run and holds school records in the 800m and 1600m events. She intends to compete in track & field as well for the Saints.
 
The Saints will open their 2019 season on Friday, August 30 against Buena Vista University (Iowa) at the University of Northwestern (Minn.) Labor Day Tournament.
