Foss Edges Dewall at the Line
The trio of senior
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS), junior
Isaac Boedigheimer (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) and freshman
Lars Dewall (Lakeland, Minn./Stillwater HS) have led the Saints all season long and Saturday was no different. Boedigheimer was looking to become the first CSS men's runner to repeat as UMAC Champion, while Foss and Dewall were looking for their first UMAC individual titles.
Down the stretch, it would be Foss and Dewall battling for the win and a photo-finish at the line would go to the senior Foss with a winning time of 26:32.1, defeating Dewall by one-tenth of a second. Boedigheimer came across in third place 10 seconds back with a time of 26:42.
It marks the first time in program history the Saints have had the individual UMAC champion in back-to-back years.
