csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team was held to a season-low 26 percent shooting in a 69-46 loss at the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action.
How it Happened
The Saints led early as an
Alison Huber (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS (Hibbing CC)) 3-pointer gave the Saints a three-point lead one minute and 30 seconds in. Over the next four minutes, the Eagles (7-7, 4-1 UMAC) out-scored the Saints 12-3 to take a six-point lead. Northwestern led 17-14 after one period of action.
The Eagles opened the second quarter with a 3-pointer and the Saints would only get as close as four in the period, but only trailed 31-23 at the break.
However, Northwestern opened the second half on a 15-1 run to essentially put the game away. The Eagles led by 20-plus the whole four quarter and won by a final of 69-46.

Emma Schmidt (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria HS) was the lone Saint in double-figures with 11 points off the bench.
Danielle Cieluch (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds, which is one shy of the program record.

Rio Landers led the Eagles with a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds. Kelsea Lund added 15 points on five made 3-pointers.
