What You Need To Know About The Saints:
-The Saints came away with a close win over Westminster College (Mo.) last Saturday with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns putting them over the top.
-The two touchdowns in the fourth quarter were both on the ground, a nine-yard score on fourth down from quarterback
Zach Edwards (St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley HS), and an 18-yard scamper from rushing leader of the day
Teddy Gildersleeve (Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS).
-The Saints only allowed 79 yards in the air Saturday, the lowest for them this season.
-Senior
Aaron Olson's (Esko, Minn./Esko HS) third quarter touchdown reception from Edwards extended his program record of consecutive conference games with a TD to 18.
-
Ben Buthe (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) had a career-high 11 receptions on Saturday, totaling 84 yards.
Offensive Players to Watch:
-Senior running back
Ben Buthe (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) - Buthe who was busy through the air last week, was a problem on the ground in 2017 for the Knights, he recorded 57 yards on 13 carries and two scores. He is 51 yards shy of 1,000 career rushing yards.
-Junior quarterback
Zach Edwards (St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) - Edwards had a big game against the Knights in 2017, helping lead the blowout with three touchdowns and 242 yards in the air. Edwards is 334 yards shy of becoming the third player in program history to throw for 4,000 yards in a career.
-Senior wide receiver
Aaron Olson (Esko, Minn./Esko HS) - Olson looks to set the program record for career touchdowns with his next TD. He is also is six receptions shy of becoming the fourth player to record 100 catches in a career.
Defensive Players to Watch:
-Junior linebacker
Cal Germain (Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) - Germain against the Knights last season totaled five tackles including 1.5 tackle-for-loss and a sack.
-Sophomore defensive back
Cody Pundsack (Melrose, Minn./Melrose HS) - Pundsack had a pick in the game against the Knights that essentially ended the game.
-Senior linebacker
Jonathan Senger (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) - Senger led the team with 11 tackles in the victory over Westminster and now leads the Saints with 27 on the season. He went over 200 career tackles last week.
What You Need to Know About The Knights:
2-1, 1-0 UMAC
-This is the first season since 2013 the Knights have started 1-0 in conference play.
-Martin Luther has the lone non-conference win in the UMAC thus far with a 28-24 win at Rockford University (Ill.). Rockford is the same team that defeated the UMAC preseason favorite MacMurray College (Ill.) the week prior.
-The 63 points the Knights dropped on Greenville University (Ill.) is the most since they put 63 on Maranatha Baptist University (Wis.) in week one of 2014.
-MLC has only one giveaway thus far this season, which ranks them second in NCAA Division III in that category. They have not been intercepted yet this season.
-The sophomore signal-caller for the Knights, Zach Bloomquist, had a big week as he threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns. He also added three scores and 79 yards on the ground.
-Bloomquist was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week and the UMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
-The other offensive leader for the Knights is sophomore running back Austin DeNoyer, he's totaled 261 yards on 62 carries with four scores.
-Junior defensive back Joe Herrewig is a key defensive piece for the Martin Luther secondary, on the young season he has recorded 2-of-the-4 Knight interceptions and is tied for second on the team for tackles with 19.
Series Record: CSS leads 7-4

Series History: The Knights took all of the victories in the first four meetings between the two teams, but since November 2011 the Saints have started to run away with the series with a seven-game win streak.
Looking ahead: The Saints return home for a meeting with the University of Northwestern (Minn.) Saturday, October 6. Kickoff is scheduled at 6 p.m. at Public Schools Stadium.
