csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team swept Bethany Lutheran College 9-0 on Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center.
Doubles
The No. 1 team of
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn./Armstrong HS) and
Emma Bartels (Roseville, Minn./Mounds View HS (Minn.-Duluth)) along with the No. 2 team of
Syd Holt (Pequot Lakes, Minn. /Pequot Lakes HS) and
Kelly Neil (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) both won by 8-1 margins. The No. 3 team of
Serena Hutson (Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly HS) and
Taylor Neil (Mora, Minn. /Mora HS) won by an 8-3 score.
Singles
The Saints won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at the No. 2 spot, Coryell at No. 3,
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at No. 5 and Hutson at No. 6 all blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0.
Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico/Universidad Tecmilenio) won her match at the No. 1 spot 6-3, 6-1. The final winner was
Elizabeth Fink (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century HS) at the No. 4 spot 6-1, 6-2.
