Women’s Hockey Faces Another Tough Test Tuesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team will head on the road before the Thanksgiving break to face No. 9 Gustavus Adolphus College.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints dropped to third in the NCHA standings after being swept last weekend by No. 6 Adrian College (Mich.).
-Despite being swept the Saints picked up six goals in the weekend against Adrian, the most in a weekend against the Bulldogs since December 2014.
-Five different Saints picked up goals over the weekend, Alexia Klaas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) picked up two goals in the 5-3 loss on Friday.
-Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) picked up three assists to lead the Saints this weekend in points. Klaas also added an assist on Saturday to record three points on the weekend.
-With three assists on the weekend, Anderson now ranks ninth in NCAA Division III averaging 1.25 assists per game.
-Anderson also recorded her 30th point of her career with her assist on Saturday.
-The Saints were 1-for-6 on the power play this weekend, they also were 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
-The Saints are 2-0-1 on the road this season, and 9-6-3 on the road dating back to the beginning of last season.
 
What You Need to Know about Gustavus Adolphus:
Record: 4-1-1, 3-1-0 MIAC
-Gustavus comes into the weekday matchup fourth in the MIAC standings, they are ranked ninth in the country in the USCHO polls
-The Gusties split with Hamline University over the weekend as both games went into overtime.
-The Gusties are averaging 2.17 goals per game, and allowing only 1.33 goals per game.
-Gustavus is 3-0 in the last three seasons against NCHA teams, all coming against St. Norbert.
-Last season Gustavus finished atop the MIAC standings, they didn't win the playoff tournament, but got an at large bid to the NCAA tournament.
-The Gusties have made the NCAA Division III Tournament each of the past two seasons.
-Amelia Vosen and Allie Stanger lead the Gusties in points this season with four.
-Amanda DiNella has played all the games for the Gusties in net, she owns a 1.29 GAA and a .954 save percentage on the season.
 
Series Record: This is the first meeting between the two programs.
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints will return home for a home series against a NCHA opponent in St. Norbert College (Wis.) on November 30 and December 1.
