What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints came away from their first weekend without a loss as they won on Friday and tied Saturday against Augsburg University despite being outshot 80-27.
-With the win on Friday, the program recorded its 100
th victory with Head Coach
Jackie MacMillan there for all 100 victories.
-
Lexi Thomeczek (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy (St. Louis AAA Blues)) played in net all weekend for the Saints allowing only three goals on those 80 shots for a .963 save percentage on the weekend.
-In the weekend win over Augsburg, the Saints scored five goals by five different skaters.

Courtney Bloemke (Nicollet, Minn./Mankato West HS),
Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS), and
Amber Tilander (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) all scored their first goal as a Saint.
Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Giorgia Battisti (Bolzano, Italy/Rice Memorial HS (Vermont)) also scored over the weekend for CSS.
-Friday's win over Augsburg marked the third season in a row that the Saints have beaten the Auggies in the season opener and also the third straight time they have scored three goals in the opener.
-
Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) leads the Saints with two points on the season as she also picked up an assist in the series victory last weekend
-The Saints are 0-for-8 on Power Play opportunities thus far, but are 9-for-10 on the Penalty Kill through two games.
-CSS enters the weekend on a 12-game home unbeaten streak as it went 9-0-3 at Mars Lakeview last season.
What You Need to Know about Marian:
Record: 0-2-0, 0-0-0 NCHA
-Marian comes to Duluth with two losses already on the season losing to Saint Mary's University 4-0, and losing to No. 7 ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 8-0.
-This was the first time since 2010-2011 that Marian was shutout in a season opener and the lowest goal total through their first two games since that same season when they only scored one.
-Senior goalie Lindsey Strainis started both games for the Sabers last weekend allowing nine goals on 58 shots for a .845 save percentage on the weekend.
-Sophomore goalie Lindsay Lewison also saw some time as she played the final 40 minutes of the Eau Claire game giving up three goals in 17 shots.
-The Sabres were picked to finish sixth in the NCHA preseason poll.

Series History: Since the Saints program started in 2010-2011 season these two teams have faced 20 times with CSS taking 18 of them. Marian has won two times, 5-2 in 2014 and 2-1 in 2016. Currently the Saints own a five-game winning streak over Marian.
Looking Ahead: The Saints will face Northland College next weekend with a classic home-and-home series. Friday's game will be played in Ashland starting at 4 p.m., while Saturday's game will be in Duluth starting at 7 p.m.
