Women’s Hockey Hosts Concordia Wisconsin this Weekend

.DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team returns to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) action this weekend when it hosts Concordia University Wisconsin for a two-game series.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a 6-3 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Superior last Wednesday.
-CSS has allowed 15 goals the last two games, the most in back-to-back games in program history.
-The Saints have given up at least 50 shots in three of the last four games.
-Against the Yellowjackets last Wednesday, the Saints did not allow a power-play chance for the first time in program history.
-St. Scholastica has not allowed a power-play goal in the last three games.
-Senior Emily Stegora (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS (Minnesota State-Mankato)) leads the team with 10 goals and 15 points.
-Stegora ranks second in the NCHA with four power-play goals.
-Junior Alexia Klaas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) has a team-high eight assists.
-Senior Abby Sawyer (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) is two points shy of becoming the fifth player in program history to record at least 70 points in a career.
-Sophomore goaltender Lexi Thomeczek (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy (St. Louis AAA Blues)) ranks fourth in the conference with a .927 save percentage.
-Thomeczek can move into a tie for second place on the career wins list with just one more victory.
-The Saints are 6-0-2 when they record the first goal.
 
What You Need to Know about Concordia:
-The Falcons are 7-6-1 overall and 5-2-1 in NCHA play.
-Concordia is winless in its last three games, including being swept against Bethel University on January 5 and 6.
-Junior forward Kristen Kennedy leads the team with seven goals and 14 points.
-Sophomore forward Natasha Wanless has a team-high eight assists.
-Sophomore goaltender Breanna Thomson ranks eighth in NCAA Division III with a .953 save percentage.
-Thomson is second in the NCHA with a 1.44 goals-against-average.
-Junior goaltender Christina Pattengale has a .912 save percentage in seven starts.

Series History: The Saints are 1-1-2 in the last four meetings against the Falcons … CSS and CUW have split the last four games at Mars Lakeview.
