DECORAH, Iowa (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica softball team's season began against St. Catherine University back in February and ended against the Wildcats on Saturday with a 7-0 loss in an elimination game at the NCAA Division III Decorah Regional.
The Action
St. Kate's batted first in the matchup and would get a key two-out, two run double to open up the scoring in the top of the first. The Wildcats made it 3-0 thanks to back-to-back one out doubles in the third inning. Meanwhile, the Saints offense was held to one hit through the first three innings.
After the Wildcats tacked on two more runs in the top of the fourth to make it 5-0,
Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) hit a one out double in the bottom frame. However, she would be left stranded.
St. Kate's added a two-out solo home run in the sixth and a two-out RBI single in the seventh to make the final score 7-0.
Pitching
Chrisi Mizera (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East HS) picked up the loss for the Saints in her final collegiate start. Krista Flugstad allowed only two hits in five innings to pick up the win for the Wildcats (33-12)
End of Season
The Saints finish with an overall record of 24-17. CSS will say goodbye to seniors

Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS). This group has been to three NCAA Division III Tournaments. This was the program's sixth NCAA Tournament appearance overall.
