csssaints.com) – In what was expected to be a three-team race, the St. Scholastica men's cross country team finished third, only four points out of second, at Saturday's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship at Benson Golf Course.

Top Performances
The University of Wisconsin-Superior and Martin Luther College were the preseason co-favorites and St. Scholastica was third. Heading into Saturday, it was expected those three teams would be battling for the title. The Yellowjackets put together a strong race to repeat as champions.
The Saints would be right there with Martin Luther, but in the end, came up just short to finish third. For the third straight race
Isaac Boedigheimer (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) paced the Saints, coming home third with a season-best time of 26:19, nine seconds behind the winner.
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) was fifth with a season-best time of 26:35 and
Cameron Pearson (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon HS) placed 11
th with a season-best time of 27:22. Foss was over a minute faster than his time last year on this course.
Ryan Steger (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored for the Saints for the first time this season, finishing 20
th in a season-best time of 28:06. The final CSS runner to score was
Izaak Juenemann (Eyota, Minn./Dover-Eyota HS) in 25
th with a time of 28:23. Juenemann was 1:11 faster than his time a year ago at these championships.
