ADRIAN, Mich. (
csssaints.com) – It was another strong third period for second-ranked Adrian College (Mich.) as it scored three goals in the period for the second straight day to end the St. Scholastica women's hockey team's season by a score of 4-0 on Sunday in game two of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup semifinals.
The ActionAfter a scoreless first period, which saw the Saints out-shoot the Bulldogs 8-6, Adrian got on the board midway thru the second period on a Kristin Lewicki goal. The Bulldogs led 1-0 at the second intermission.
It was Lewicki again at the start of the third period, making 2-0 Adrian 21 seconds into the period. Bailey Robertson scored her first goal of the year with under five minutes to play to make it 3-0. The Bulldogs then added an empty-netter to make the final score 4-0.
GoaltendingLindsey Hartfiel (Big Lake, Minn./Buffalo HS) had 26 saves in the loss for the Saints, while Jade Walsh also recorded 25 saves to earn the shutout.
