ADRIAN, Mich. (csssaints.com) – It was another strong third period for second-ranked Adrian College (Mich.) as it scored three goals in the period for the second straight day to end the St. Scholastica women's hockey team's season by a score of 4-0 on Sunday in game two of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup semifinals.
 
The Action
After a scoreless first period, which saw the Saints out-shoot the Bulldogs 8-6, Adrian got on the board midway thru the second period on a Kristin Lewicki goal. The Bulldogs led 1-0 at the second intermission.
 
It was Lewicki again at the start of the third period, making 2-0 Adrian 21 seconds into the period. Bailey Robertson scored her first goal of the year with under five minutes to play to make it 3-0. The Bulldogs then added an empty-netter to make the final score 4-0.
 
Goaltending
Lindsey Hartfiel (Big Lake, Minn./Buffalo HS) had 26 saves in the loss for the Saints, while Jade Walsh also recorded 25 saves to earn the shutout.
 
Thank You Seniors
The Saints will say goodbye to four seniors: Taylor Guzzo (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelley HS (UW-River Falls)), Nikki Logergren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Northern Stars)), Ivy Smith (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake HS (St. Cloud State)) and Kelsey Reeves (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River HS ). CSS finishes with a 9-16-2 record.
