RIVER FALLS, Wis. - (csssaints.com) The St. Scholastica women's volleyball team was defeated by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in three sets on Wednesday, ending the Saints' four-match winning streak.

The Action
The first set saw the Saints lose with a score of 25-21, the closest set of the match. The Falcon offense outplayed the Saints, recording 13 kills to the Saints' nine, which gave them the advantage. In the second set, CSS was unable to get anything rolling, only managing a hitting percentage of .100. Fourteen kills by River Falls was too much for the Saints to handle, and they fell with a score of 25-17.

The final match was much closer as CSS made a final push to collect their first win of the night. They would not find success, however. The Falcons, despite the best efforts of the Saints, took the set 25-20, ending the match in three sets.

Notable Performances
Amanda Belden (Esko, Minn./Esko HS) led the way for CSS, tallying 10 kills and nine digs, proving to be an asset to both the offense and defense. Espi Austvold (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) earned 15 assists and Alex Barsody (Onamia, Minn./Onamia HS) had 18 digs on the night.

For the Falcons, their leading offensive player was Amara Meyer, with 14 kills. Hannah Robb collected 16 digs over the course of the match.
